Prosthetics

The missing tooth or several teeth besides aesthetic almost as a rule cause a number of other problems, such as difficulty when chewing, breathing or speaking. Consequently, this further leads to digestive problems.

Toothless leads to damage to the jaw bone and jaw joint and in the aesthetic sense it completely deforms the lower part of the face. Due to the lack of one tooth other teeth can move towards this empty space making all subsequent prosthetic work more difficult.

Recent prosthetic provides patients to compensate for the lost tooth in aesthetic and functional sense. According to the condition of teeth of each individual patient and according to wishes the dental office MMDENT offers and implements the best solutions for each individual case. Prosthetic works can be fixed (crowns and bridges), mobile (prosthesis) and combined (bridges and prosthesis).

FIXED WORKS

Zirconium ceramics

Zirconium is relatively new material in dental medicine and for sure the greatest discovery since metal ceramics crown. Zirconium as material is compatible, without allergic reactions to the surrounding tissue, it is weak conductor of heat and electricity therefore the hypersensitivity of the teeth is reduced to a minimum; it is unfavourable substrate for accumulation of plaque (deposits) which greatly facilitates the implementation of oral hygiene and slows down the gingival recession. Along with all the above mentioned advantages, the zirconium is sufficiently solid to withstand the chewing force of lateral region without fracturing and there is no metal base. Aesthetic characteristics are exceptional and provide technicians with possibility to model the crown which is hard to differentiate from natural tooth.

Non-metal ceramics (Ivoclar E-MAX Press)

It is implemented in the frontal and lateral regions to achieve high aesthetic of teeth in the form of crowns or by minimally invasive technique for Veneers, inlaid, onlaid and overlaid. Since there is no base securing firmness and resistance it is not suitable to manufacture bridges in the lateral region due to strong chewing forces.

Metal ceramics

Thanks to dental medicine and dental materials developments the full crown in metal is abandoned from use and a metal ceramic crown is introduced. It consists of a metal base (cobalt-chromium-molybdenum or nickel-chromium-molybdenum) on which ceramics is applied. In this way, the crown takes on the appearance of a tooth and satisfies requests of aesthetics. The strength of the metal base and the aesthetic of ceramics enable use of metal ceramic crowns and bridges in both, lateral and front regions.

MOBILE WORKS

Acrylic prosthesis

It is ideal for full toothless people and could be excellent solution in many other cases. The especially popular are acrylic prostheses reinforced by titanium net which significantly increases it resistance. Financial aspect makes it very wanted because this is very affordable and long-lasting solution. In aesthetic sense this is also an excellent solution fulfilling even very high criteria.

Skeletal prosthesis

Skeletal prosthesis is a mobile prosthetic restoration ad it is combined with fixed prosthetic restorations (bridges). Their advantage is a sense of naturalness (unlike total ones where there is a feeling of a foreign body in the mouth to which the patient becomes accustomed over time) because the feeling of a foreign body is minimised. This prosthesis can be connected to bridges (fixed restorations) through attachments, sliders or hooks. Sliders are perfect solutions regarding aesthetics because they are not visible. Whatever type of connection is to be used; sliders, attachments or hooks this prosthesis can be removed and cleaned.
